Surely you didn’t miss the dachshund being squeezed by Marilyn Monroe in October’s Advocate CliffDweller. Just in case you did, Fred the dachshund is the chairman of this Sunday’s LifeBark event, where both people and dogs can raise money for North Texas HIV/AIDS services. Neighborhood nonprofit AIDS Arms Inc. is the major organizer for this event.

Every dog that registers receives a LifeBark bandana, and AIDS Arms notes that a pet butler will be on site (to keep Lee Park clean) as well as a veterinariarn. On top of that, owners whose dogs accompany them on the LifeWalk 5k will find puppy pools and puppy treats along the route and in the park. It’s not too late to participate — just download the forms, gather enough pledges ($30 for humans, $10 for dogs), and show up on Sunday at 1 p.m. The money can come out of your own pocket, too.

And for all you pet lovers out there, I’m on the lookout for adorable photos of your pets to show off in the Advocate CliffDweller’s Pet Pause section. If you have any, please send them my way.
