Stevie Ray Vaughan statue in Lake Cliff Park?

That’s apparently the latest pet project of neighborhood resident Jason Roberts, who won the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce‘s "volunteer of the year" award at today’s annual membership meeting, according to neighborhood blogger and columnist Rob Shearer.

As if Roberts doesn’t have enough on his plate, what with raising funds to renovate the Texas Theatre, to bring back the Oak Cliff streetcars, and to make our neighborhood more bicycle friendly, he also has decided that building a monument to famed eclectic guitarist and native son Stevie Ray Vaughan is a worthy effort.

We have no details on the process or any fundraising efforts yet, but you can view the proposal here.
