The station’s grand opening starts at 9:30 on Saturday morning, and its design features public artwork created by neighborhood resident Art Garcia. In this Oak Cliff Advocate story, Garcia described the installation as "a canopy of translucent panels that showcase the science of fire fighting."

Garcia is the founder of advertising agency Graphic Content, and the company recently moved from the second story of the historical firehouse at the corner of Bishop and Davis into a new office space a few blocks away at 509 W. Davis, a building that Garcia spent a year renovating. As far as I know, the fire station’s second story is still looking for a tenant.
