New Oak Cliff blog devoted to Stevie Ray Vaughn statue

I’m not sure that Cliffite Jason Roberts has enough to do. He heads up boards of both the Oak Cliff Transit Authority and the Texas Theatre/Oak Cliff Foundation, performs in the band The Happy Bullets, chairs the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce’s alternative transportation committee, maintains both a personal blog and the Bike Friendly Oak Cliff blog, and helps organize all kinds of neighborhood events, like this month’s Oak Cliff Art Crawl.

And if you remember from one of Rob Shearer’s past Advocate columns, Roberts decided late last year to launch an effort to build a Stevie Ray Vaughn statue at Lake Cliff Park. He recently started a new blog devoted to the cause, which includes the announcement that Bolsa restaurant manager Chris Jeffers has signed on to head up the statue project.

    I SAW THE STATUE ON TV OF THE EVENT AT THE KESSLER AND OOPS!! THE SCULPTOR HAS THE GUITAR “WHAMMY BAR” IN THE WRONG PLACE STEVIES GUITAR AND MOST OF HIS GUITARS WERE FENDER STRATOCASTERS, AND ALL OF THEM HAD THE WHAMMY BAR (STANDING IN FRONT OF THE GUITAR) AT THE LOWER RIGHT BELOW THE STRINGS BUT THE ON STATUE ITS AT THE UPPER LEFT OOPS!!! HOPE IT GETS CORRECTED BEFORE THAY MAKE THE FULL SIZE ONE.
