On the way to work this morning I noticed one of the digital billboards on I-30 announcing an awareness week. It turns out, this week, April 6-10, is National Work Zone Awareness Week. The Texas Department of Transportation wants your help to make the construction and maintenance zones on the roads safer for workers and drivers. Instead of a week, let’s make it a year-round affair and use extra caution when we see those orange work zone signs. Not only does it make the roads safer for workers and drivers it could also get you out of an expensive ticket since traffic fines double in work zones.
