One of the most vocal cycling advocates in Dallas is neighborhood resident Jason Roberts, whose Bike Friendly Oak Cliff blog covers everything from Oak Cliff events to national and even international cycling issues and trends.

Roberts has long maintained an opposite viewpoint on bike lanes and cycling safety from Dallas’ former bike coordinator, PM Summer, so Roberts welcomed the recent announcement of the city hiring a new bike coordinator who hails from the East Coast and is "an advocate for progressive bike infrastructure (read: bike lanes)."

Roberts followed this up over the weekend with a news-length story on Dallas being "the last major U.S. city holdout" in terms of a friendly bike infrastructure, even quoting a couple of his friends and fellow Cliffites, Rob Shearer and Monte Anderson, and describing the push to find "a new 21st century bicycle coordinator," led by Coucilmen Angela Hunt and Linda Koop, and City Manager Mary Suhm.
