Oak Cliff Gateway Bake Sale canceled

Organizers have canceled the Oak Cliff Gateway Bake Sale, which had been planned for Saturday. The sale was to be part of Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale, which strives to end childhood hunger.

Clyde Greenhouse, baker and co-owner of Kessler Cookie Co., had been organizing the event, but canceled because he didn’t get enough sponsorship interest to pull it off. Fundraising is tougher since the recession, and Greenhouse said he started too late. "But we are planning to do it next spring," he said. "We are going to start working on it right at the begining of the year."
