A festive group of Twelve Hills Nature Center board members and supporters recently gathered in the second-floor Grand Bank board room at Zang and Colorado. They were there to toast the final payment on the land nestled behind Rosemont Primary’s Chris V. Semos campus, which is now desginated as a 5.4-acre urban preserve.

The significance of the last payment is that the land "is now held in perpetuity and can never be built on," says board member Paula Craig. The nature center’s trailhead entrance off Mary Cliff — the only thing that will be built on the land — is also near completion, so the Twelve Hills board has much to celebrate these days.
