Cuts in the city budget are coming. The recently reported deficit tells us there’s no way around it. The only questions are where exactly the budget dollars will be axed, and whether the city will implement new fees or taxes to make up for the loss.
A City of Dallas community budget forum will be held just north of our neighborhood tomorrow night, Tuesday, June 9, 6:30-8 p.m. at Goodwill Industries, 3020 N. Westmoreland. It’s an opportunity to hear an overview and give your input. District 3 Councilman Dave Neumann also says he will hold a series of town hall meetings in his district concerning the budget starting in August. The city manager’s poposed 2009-2010 budget will be presented to council on Aug. 10.
