As of Aug. 1, school-aged children are required to get vaccines in order to meet new standards of the Dallas school system. Due to the recent surge of the swine flu virus, especially in some local summer camps, the Public Health Department reevaluated the vaccine requirements for the upcoming school year. Parents are urged to have their children immunized sooner rather than later for earlier disease prevention. Vaccines are $3 each, and are available at Oak Cliff Health Center at 300 North Ewing. Visit city hall’s immunization page for more information about the vaccines.
