This was just one response in the DMN’s weekend letters to the editor section to a story on the new campaign to change Young Street to be named after the Mexican-American labor activist. The letter writer from the ‘burbs reasons that both Davis Street and Jefferson Boulevard run through Latino Oak Cliff.

A website commenter and apparent neighborhood resident quickly chastizes the letter writer for not only getting into Dallas’ (and Oak Cliff’s) business when he lives in Plano, but also for incorrectly assuming that the two roads were named for the president of the Confederate States of America.
