Best of Texas blogger Amanda Warr recently received a makeover on the TLC TV show "What Not to Wear", and the viewing party is this Friday night at Jack’s Backyard. The show premieres at 8 p.m., but before it begins, local band Eastwood will perform, and $1 raffle tickets will be sold benefitting local nonprofit Attitudes and Attire. The list of raffle prizes is pretty amazing, and includes a Juicy Fruit necklace made by neighborhood resident Stephanie Hindall of Tefi Designs.

The charitable theme continues with a blood drive on Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., organized by the South Oak Cliff High School class of 1960. Anyone wanting to donate will find the Carter Blood Mobile parked in front of Hunky’s in the Bishop Arts District.

One more way to give: Anyone 21 and older who takes children’s chewable multi-vitamins to the Haley-Henman Gallery on Saturday evening will be admitted free into the closing reception for the Jerry E. Smith, Esther Ritz and Sergio A. Delgado exhibit. The 7-10 p.m. event includes free mojitos (and tips on how to make them), plus music and dancing. All vitamins and 10 percent of any art sales will be donated to Medical Wings International.
