The folks who hosted and attended the Tyler Street Block Party this weekend had plenty to celebrate — after being help up by some zoning issues, the new Oak Cliff Bicycle Company has received its certificate of occupancy. Because the shop, still under construction, will both repair and manufacture bicycles, it will operate under a light manufacturing designation, which allows it to devote space to retail, too. The store should be open for business soon.

Bike Friendly Oak Cliff has posted plenty of photos of the night’s events. Not only adults but also plenty of children celebrated at the party, and BFOC has plans for future events that are both bike-friendly and kid-friendly, including coordinating with Rosemont Primary and Rosemont Elementary for a big event this fall.
