In honor of Oak Cliff cyclists, the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company in conjunction with Bike Friendly Oak Cliff will host a block party on Saturday, June 27 from 6:30-11 p.m. The party on Tyler and Seventh will feature beer, barbecue and live music. Although the barbecue will cost you, the beer and music are complimentary. Featured bands are The Happy Bullets, STEW! and The Lollipop Shoppe. The party wraps up with a "bike-in" movie, "Pee Wee’s Big Adventure". Bike Friendly Oak Cliff President Jason Roberts hopes the party will be an opportunity to get Cliffies outdoors and on their bikes.

Tyler and Seventh, where the block party will take place, is the future site of Oak Cliff Bicycle Company, a retail shop especially for Oak Cliff cyclists. The block party originally was intended to be a grand opening party for the shop, but owner Jeremy Ordaz is facing some problems opening the store because of Davis Street zoning regulations. We’ll be reporting more about this on Back Talk Oak Cliff shortly.
