After receiving a certificate of occupancy following a lengthy battle with city council, Oak Cliff Bicycle Company is ready to open its doors on August 3. While the bicycle shop has already begun repairing bicycles, the shop will offer a variety of bikes, accessories and components, just like big factory-type stores do. Owner Jeremy Ordaz is excited about the opening, saying that the shop has a “mom and pop Oak Cliff neighborhood feel”, and hopes the neighborhood shares his excitement. Ordaz plans to have a small party to celebrate the opening, to invite people in and receive feedback on what cyclists really want out of their shop. Ordaz plans to have the party on August 15, but no plans have been set in stone just yet. Check out the bicycle shop’s website for details, and keep tuning in to Back Talk Oak Cliff for updates.
