Preservation Dallas is offering a hard-hat tour of the former Monroe Shops in Oak Cliff Thursday. DART is renovating the 1914 building for the DART police headquarters. The structure was built as a trolley car repair center, and has been empty since the 50s or 60s. DART is attempting to get a LEED Silver certification.

The tour starts at 6 p.m., and it’s $10 for Preservation Dallas members and $20 for everyone else. Drive if you want to, but you can ride the DART Blue Line to the Illinois Station, where the tour starts.
