Check out artist Jim Gallucci’s "The Gates" at the Oak Cliff Bank Tower Friday morning, and pay tribute to the lives lost on 9/11. The Patriot Day ceremony, which includes the Sunset High School ROTC, starts at about 7:30 a.m.
Oak Cliff Fiestas Patrias is a street festival on Jefferson Saturday from Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts. There will be live music and dance troupe performances starting at 12:30 p.m., and the party concludes with the Oak Cliff grito at 7:30 p.m.
Smoke lights up at the Belmont Hotel with its first breakfast service Saturday morning. The new restaurant from Chef Tim Byres will be open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"Bolsaveursary" is a one-year anniversary party for Bolsa Sunday. They’re having music from The Happy Bullets, The Deathray Davies and Theater Fire. There will be free food from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., including bratwurst, pulled pork, sliders, mini pizzas and bruschetta. Even better, buy drinks at the bar, and part of the proceeds will go to La Reunion Texas.
