There are some snags to the Trinity River Project, but they haven’t stopped construction on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. You can watch the progress from this Web cam. And once the bridge is completed in a couple of years, the Continental Bridge will become a pedestrian thoroughfare. So the Trinity Trust is offering a taste of that with a "bridge party" fundraiser on Sept. 25. They’ll close the Continental Bridge for a party featuring music from a DJ and the Boys Named Sue, a taco truck and vodka sno-cones. The bridge’s architect, Santiago Calatrava, is expected to come and be available at a meet-and-greet for guests who buy two tickets at $250 apiece. Tickets start at $150.
Taxpayers are paying for part of the bridge, but the Trinity Trust raises private money to pay for extras, such as the celebrity architect.
