It took Lilian Phillips 10 years, but she opened the store of her dreams this weekend. Ouch Fashion, a new botique near Bishop and Davis, is the first business venture from neighbor Lilian Phillips. The Argentina native came to Dallas nine years ago to work at the World Trade Center and in the retail fashion business.

Ouch Fashion features dresses from Houston-based designer Sandra Posada, as well as clothes from Brazilian and Argentine designers. Phillips is targeting women 30 and older, but she also carries some men’s T-shirts.

There already are about five other women’s boutiques in the Bishop Arts District, but Phillips says she thinks the market can handle one more. "I feel like nobody’s trying to compete," she says of her boutique colleagues. "Everyone’s doing their own thing, and they’re all very supportive."
