The Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce is having a brunch for breast cancer awareness at the Golf Club of Dallas Friday at 10:30 a.m. Tickest are $20, and proceeds go toward mammograms for women who cannot afford them. Tickets are available here.

The Jefferson Boulevard Task Force is throwing a Halloween party for kids Saturday from 2-4:30 p.m. outside the Texas Theater. A costume parade, led by the Dallas Fire Department, is at 3 p.m.

Oak Cliff’s new used bookstore, Cliff Notes Prolonged Media, will have a Day of the Dead altar for Frida Kahlo Saturday with music, free hot chocolate and pan dulce.

What’s cuter than dogs in clothes? Dogs in costumes! On Saturday, dress up your pooch for the Halloween pet costume contest at Bolsa from 2-6 p.m. They’ll have prizes for the best costume, a pet photograper and a groomer.

DISD is hosting a college fair at Mountain View College Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The free fair is open to sixth through 12th grade students and their parents. The fair includes sessions, in English and Spanish, on the college admissions process, financial aid, how to choose a college career and obtaining college credits while in high school.
