This weekend: get pink, hook ’em horns (or whatever), rock out to end homelessness

It’s not too late to register for Race for the Cure, Dallas-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure‘s largest fundraiser. There are 1k and 5k routes.

Stay away from Fair Park and Lower Greenville, or get involved, depending on how many drunk college kids you want to see. It’s Texas/OU weekend, and thank goodness it’s once a year. If you’re bored with watching it over mimosas on the sofa, but you don’t want to deal with the downtown madness, try Las Ranitas. They show all the big games on a ginormous screen. So you can eat enchiladas while you watch the Sooners lose. The game starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, a rock show and battle of the bands at the Curtain Club benefits Promise House. Tickets are $10 and the proceeds go to Promise House, an Oak Cliff charity that helps homeless, run-away and at-risk teens.
