Most of us are working a bit harder for the money these days and nonprofits are no different than any other business in that respect. As the holidays approach, many seem to be kicking it up a notch. I noticed recently that I’ve been giving dollars here and there to various causes — when the lady at the checkout asks loudly, “Would you care to give a dollar for diabetes research,” it’s tough to say, “no”. But those dollars add up.
