Espumoso Cafe expands to Las Vegas

A Bishop Arts District coffee house is expanding to Sin City. Espumoso Cafe, the Latin influenced coffee shop that opened in February, is headed to Vegas, baby.

Owner Tony Fernandez says he expects to have a grand opening for the new Espumoso Cafe in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino‘s new Paradise Tower on Dec. 2.

Fernandez noticed on a trip to Las Vegas a few months ago that the tower had restaurant spaces available. "So we made a proposal, and they liked it because it’s a little bit different from your ordinary coffee house in the sense that we offer a laid-back, chill Latin vibe with a lot of different offerings," he says.

Along with coffee drinks, acai fruit smoothies and empanadas, the new Espumoso will offer gelato and a full bar — hey, it’s Vegas.

Fernandez, who lives in Oak Cliff, says he picked our neighborhood as the location for his first coffee shop because it reminds him of Latin America: "It’s a small community. You can walk everywhere. Everyone knows each other. It’s close to downtown and the airport and Arlington. It’s just more of a community than your typical suburb."
