University of Texas-Arlington architecture students are working on a landscape design for the new Oak Cliff Cultural Center, according to neighborhood Councilwoman Delia Jasso. Jasso says construction will be completed in March, and the former Ice House Cultural Center will open that month as the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, an "incubator for starving artists" with a gallery space and a performance space.

The center will be on Jefferson Boulevard right next to the Texas Theatre, and UTA students are working on a "mini-plan for that one-block area," Jasso says. It will likely include concrete staining for the sidewalks "to give that area some good exposure," she says.
