First a hotel, and now space at a mall? The city looks like it will buy the former JCPenney spot at Southwest Center Mall, formerly known as Red Bird. We’re looking at a $97,000 option on a $2 million purchase.
Can’t afford to fill pot holes, but we sure can develop real estate. Silly me — and I thought the job of city government was to do government things. Guess I am out of touch, as so many of you have suggested. Perhaps I should start putting together a list of empty property in Oak Cliff that we can approach the city about.
