This weekend: Comic Con, chili cook-off, group photo,

TV’s Batman, Adam West, and some guy from one of the "Twilight" movies are media guests at Comic Con Dallas this weekend. The two-day event also features about 40 artists, plus toys, books and lots of other merchandise. It’s Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday noon-4 p.m. at the Richardson Civic Center.

The beans vs. no beans debate is sure to rage on at Barbara’s Pavillion’s annual chili cookoff Sunday. Judging is at 3 p.m. To enter, sign up no later than Saturday by emailing damonmeyer@me.com or calling 214-941-2145

Meet your neighbors and find out what’s up with the Old Oak Cliff Conservation League’s efforts to save Adamson High School and the Oak Cliff Christian Church from demolition Sunday. The league is organizing a group picture for "This Place Matters," a photo project from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
