The Oak Cliff Cinco de Mayo parade is May 1 at 11 a.m., and organizers are looking for parade entrants. The 1.2-mile parade along West Jefferson is the biggest Cinco de Mayo parade in North Texas, and about 1,000 people are expected to participate, with at least 20,000 spectators. Oak Cliff Cinco de Mayo is a family-friendly event with no alcohol sales. Parade entry fee is $25 for individuals and nonprofits, $100 for small businesses, and $250 for corporations. CliffWalls, the Oak Cliff mural project,
is seeking sponsors. Donations of $100-$499 include invitations to a party with the mural artists. For $500-$2,499, an artist will paint the donor’s name on a “donor wall” mural.
