Hamlet opens at the Bishop Arts Theater Center Friday. The show is the culmination of the center’s four-month Teenagers and Theater apprenticeship program. The shows are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Call 214.948.0716 to reserve free tickets.

The Twelve Hills Nature Center has a bird walk Saturday at 9 a.m. Oak Cliff birder John Lunsford will lead the walk and talk about the birds that pass through North Texas this time of year. The walk is about an hour and a half, and children are welcome, but please leave pets at home. Bring binoculars and a field guide if possible. The 10th annual Adamson High School all-class reunion is Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the school. A barbecue lunch is at noon in the cafeteria, and a ceremony to induct outstanding graduates into the Adamson Hall of Honor is at 1 p.m. in the auditorium. Author and former NFL player Anthony E. Prior will speak at Pan-African Connection bookstore Saturday at 3 p.m. Prior’s self-published book from 2006, The Slave Side of Sunday, compares the NFL to the American slave trade. Hmmm. Check out this story about Prior’s book from the Nation. His talk Saturday is titled "Who’s going pro vs. who’s going to prison".

We’re getting our Beatrix Kiddo costume ready for Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s ninjas vs. pirates ride Sunday at 3 p.m. Those guys are so silly, and we love it. The ride starts at Main Street Garden Park downtown. On second thought, we might go as Roberto Clemente.
