This month’s First Thursday in the Bishop Arts District is kind of a big deal. Local celebrity types, Lady Jade from radio station KKDA and "Good Morning Texas" host Amy Vanderoef, will be there as part of a promotion for the new Queen Latifa movie, "Just Wright".
IMDB gives us this plot description: "A physical therapist falls for the basketball player she is helping recover from a career-threatening injury."
Common plays the basketball player, and I will see any movie with Queen Latifa OR Common, no matter how bad they are (ahem, "Valentines’ Day"), so this one is a yes-yes for me. Wait. It also has Pam Grier. Make that a yes-yes-yes.
There will also be a wine walk. Buy a glass for $5 and have it filled in the district’s shops.
