You may have noticed some subtle changes to the Advocate blog and Web site in the last couple of days. That’s because we’re rolling out a new platform, which should help the site load faster and allow us to offer more and better features.
Most of the changes should go live over the next week or so, including an expanded multi-media page; Bizfinder, our guide to neighborhood businesses; and improved event and garage sale listings. The search feature is also infinitely improved, and you’ll be able to search the entire site — blog and magazine — with one search.
What do you need to know now?
• Most of your old bookmarks won’t work. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much we could do about this. But the new site is easier to navigate, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble to re-bookmark pages.
• Some blog posts from the end of last week didn’t get transferred to the new site. But we’ll get them in over the next few days.
• If you subscribe to blog posts via RSS or email, nothing should change. They should work just as they always did.
