Drove all the way to Mockingbird Station at the crack of dawn this morning with a friend who is visiting from Germany just to watch her team lose 1-0 to Slovenia Serbia — ugh!

We had a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, cheese, toast, home fries and coffee at Trinity Hall Irish Pub, which opened at 6:30 a.m., and is screening every World Cup game.

So far, we haven’t found any Oak Cliff business that is quite as dedicated to the other football. My favorite place to watch sports in Oak Cliff is Las Ranitas on Jefferson. And they’re playing World Cup games, but they don’t open until 10:30 a.m.

I called Eno’s to ask if they’re doing anything special for the World Cup. No.

Neither is Beckley Brew House.

None of the lists of places to watch the tournament, like this one from NBCDFW and this one from Unfair Park, mentions Oak Cliff.

So it seems that if any business is serious about the Copa Mundial, they’d have a corner on the breakfast-and-football market. Please let us know if you’re aware of one. Mockingbird Station is too far away for such an early appointment.
