Neighbors in Lake Highlands are fighting a Dallas Housing Authority proposal to move otherwise homeless people from the Bridge into condominiums there.
They are making some of the same points there that Oak Cliff neighbors are making about a similar proposal for Cliff Manor Apartments. Those include that even though the Dallas Housing Authority complied with laws regulating transparency in government, the agency tried to slip one past neighbors.
The story quotes Lake Highlands resident Ashley Livingston: “I want to make people aware of what’s going on. I feel like the city was trying to sneak it in without residents who will be affected knowing it.”
