St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the 74-year-old building on West Davis at Mary Cliff Drive, burned beyond salvation almost three years ago.
Since then, the St. Cecilia community has held masses in the school cafeteria and gym, as well as a makeshift chapel in a portable building, while they raised money for a new church. Site work started earlier this year. And today, framework for the new church building started to go up.
I left a message with the church’s pastor, the Rev. Edmundo Paredes, to find out when they expect the church to be completed.
