This weekend: music and comedy, red hot rally, benefit concert

The Kessler Theater features rock en espanol Friday with Mayta, Intersol and Espiritu Urbano. Tickets are $11. On Saturday, singer-songwriter Danny Malone and comedian Jamie Lee perform as part of a benefit for animal shelters. Tickets are $15.

The Red Hot Chili Pepper Rally, a bike race that benefits Calumet Community Center, is Saturday. There are 20-, 40- and 60-mile routes. They start at the center and tour the Joe Pool Lake area. The entry fee is $30

Our friend, Vicki Fitzgerald, has cancer. And the Old Oak Cliff Conservation League is having a benefit for her from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Turner House. Floramay Holliday will perform, and there will be a silent auction. Tickets are $20. Fitzgerald has given so much of herself for Oak Cliff as a supporter of Turner House and a tireless organizer for the conservation league’s annual home tour. The benefit will help Fitzgerald and her husband, Richard, offset medical costs.
