Gardizi describes the menu as “new American Caifornia cuisine”. The food will be organic and local when possible.

“We’re trying to keep everything healthful,” he says.

Dinner entrees are priced under $30, and there will be a seven-item tapas menu served at the bar. Decanter will be open Tuesday-Sunday until 2 a.m., and they will serve a late-night menu Thursday-Saturday. A lunch service is planned for Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

The restaurant will have sidewalk seating for about 30 people and live music on weekends.

Gardizi, who was born in Sicily and raised in Austria, recieved his culinary training in Europe. He has consulted on restaurants and nighclubs including Buddha Bar in New York City. He also helped develop the tapas and ceviche menu at Stephan Pyles.

He says of the Bishop Arts District: “I like the feel of the neighborhood. It doesn’t feel like you’re in Dallas or Texas or the United States even. It puts me back in Europe. People are walking around and talking to each other whether they know each other or not. There’s a lot of communication going on. There’s pride of community. And the neighborhood works hard to promote itself.”
