Dallas Cowboys player donates $12,000 to Promise House

Andre Gurode, a nine-year NFL veteran who plays center for the Dallas Cowboys, donated $12,000 to Promise House this month.

The money was from the proceeds of Gurode’s “Celebrity Weekend” in June. The weekend included many NFL and NBA players, and it featured a kickball game, casino gala and brunch.

Gurode put on the event through his charity, Center of Attention. (We love the name!)

Promise House is an Oak Cliff-based charity that provides housing, meals, counseling, education, life-skills training and other resources for homeless or at-risk teens.
