Neighborhood memorial service for Vicki Fitzgerald

The life of Winnetka Heights resident and tireless neighborhood advocate Vicki Fitzgerald was honored in an Atoka, Okla., memorial service earlier this month, and this Saturday, Oct. 23, the Fitzgerald family is inviting friends and neighbors to an celebration of her life at Tyler Street United Methodist Church. The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League sent out this announcement, inviting people to “celebrate Vicki’s life and her everlasting impact on our lives and our community” at the 3 p.m. service. A reception will follow at Turner House, another neighborhood cause that was dear to Fitzgerald.

The league dedicated this year’s fall home tour to Fitzgerald, who had been a crucial part of its organization in recent years. In its October newsletter, the league announced the preliminary tour results: a net of $26,000, up 100 percent from last year. “Vicki would have been pleased,” the newsletter notes.
