Dallas civic leaders are getting on the “it gets better” message at 5:30 tonight, Oct. 15, at Lake Cliff Park. Participants are asked to wear purple in a show of support.

The rally is being organized by the Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance, Youth First Texas, LULAC No. 4871, the Cathedral of Hope, Resource Center Dallas, Equality Texas, Dallas County Schools president Larry Duncan, State Rep. Roberto Alonzo and District 1 City Council member Delia Jasso.

Conspicuously absent from that list is DISD, which declined to support the transgender North Dallas High School student who wanted to run for homecoming queen.
