Cliff Notes Prolonged Media, the bookstore next to the Kessler Theater, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a poetry open-mike night and party from 8-10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Mighty Fine Arts. It’s BYOB.

The annual Coombs Creek clean-up is from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 9. Meet in the 1900 block of Kessler Parkway between Edgefield and Clinton. Kessler Neighbors United is providing coffee and doughnuts for breakfast and KFC for lunch.

Here’s another way to pitch in to make the neighborhood more beautiful. The rain-out workday for the community garden at the Cliff Manor apartments is Saturday, Oct. 9, at 8:30 a.m.

The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League’s annual Fall Home Tour is from noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9-10. Tickets are $10 for league members and $20 otherwise. They’re available online, at the Daniel Padilla Gallery or at any of the properties on the tour.
