This weekend: architecture, Japanese film, music, festival

11.11 TURNER HOUSE SALON SERIES Tonight, from 7:30-9 p.m., is the last salon series of the year, and it’s a cool one. Architect Richard Davis will talk about the “Gatsby Era”, and the origins of European-style homes in Kessler Park. Tickets are $15.

11.12 AKIRA KUROSAWA SERIES The Texas Theatre’s first director series examines Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. The first of three Kurosawa films on tap is “Stray Dog”. It starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $8.

11.13 CARRIE RODRIGUEZ performs at the Kessler Theater. Tickets are $12.

11.14 CLIFF FEST The second-annual celebration of all things Oak Cliff is noon-6 p.m. Sunday in the Bishop Arts District. A $1 donation to the North Texas Food Bank is requested.
