Did you hear? Jared from the Subway ads died of a heart attack. Or was it complications from his gastric bypass surgery? A tragic subway accident?
Google it all you want, and you’ll see it was a not-so elaborate hoax (if you ask me). They created this website, which misspells Jared Fogel’s name at least twice. So, how do you decide which mildly popular celebrity to pick on?
This LA Times blurb offers a little insight. The anonymous creators of the site said,”It has to be someone people recognize and know … yet at the same time think they might have missed it in the news.”
