Fort Worth Avenue development: Bulldozers in action

Come watch the demolition of the Dallas County maintenance facility, Sylvan @ Fort Worth Avenue, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14.  Oaxaca Enterprises is the owner of the 61/2 acre  I-30/Sylvan/Fort Worth Ave property and demolition of the buildings on the site is preparatory to construction of a retail/commercial development.  There will be remarks at 3:45 on the patio of Bar Belmont and that should provide great viewing of the demolition.  Within 75 days, the Alamo Plaza motel will be demolished and Oaxaca says it will save the iconic neon sign.  Hopefully, this is a harbinger of continued, sustainable, sensitive development along Fort Worth Avenue.
