Columnist Gayla Kokel wrote about Dr. Rodney Moore and his parents’ little grocery at the corner of Montclair and Taft for the January Advocate. Until supermarkets came to rule in the 1950s, every neighborhood had a corner grocery, and it sounds like the Moore Grocery was a great one.

The Moore Grocery building is still there, across the street from Rosemont Elementary’s upper campus. Neighbors Dan and Pam Williams renovated the place and made it into a house in 2002. We profiled the grocery-turned-house in 2006.
