My, my my.

This place is superb. My superhero husband snagged reservations on opening weekend, and Lucia did not disappoint. We have waited and waited, and at long last, David Uygur’s rich, Italian menu came through in a big way.

We were greeted by his lovely wife Jennifer and a holiday-adorned antique mantelpiece and immediately fell in love with the homey vibe of Lucia. We knew right away that the impending culinary experience would have the unique warmth that is often associated with Italian restaurants.

I felt like I was in my Grandmother’s cozy Italian kitchen. Except she’s not Italian and doesn’t have darling blue bench seats, soft lighting, and a hand-cranked Italian pasta press like Lucia does.

The interior is gorgeous and rustic, filled with knickknacks and curios, lovely art, and relics that appear to be from the owner’s personal travels to Italy.

The pasta will make people go crazy.

Three words: Ravioli di zucca.

The winter squash ravioli with sage, butter and crushed amaretti landed on our table and it was terrific. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure I almost blacked out after my first bite.

We ended our meal with a sweet success.

The gnocchi de susine (aka plums) with brown butter gelato was an interesting end to our meal. I can’t pass up dessert and this sweet treat was a pleasant surprise.
