The last public meeting on the Dallas Bike Plan is at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 in the sixth-floor Flag Room at City Hall.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., staff members will present final drafts of the maps and other aspects of the plan.
The top four goals of the bike plan are as follows:
- Connectivity – create an interconnected bikeway system and better routes to major destinations such as schools, parks, shopping and other activity centers.
- Complete Streets – create a more bicycle–friendly Dallas, adopt a complete streets approach as one strategy to implement the plan.
- Install bicycle facilities (for example, bike lanes, shared-use markings, cycle tracks, multi-use pathways, bike boxes, etc.) where appropriate, to help define the future bikeway system network and to improve bicycle connections.
- Promote education and awareness for both motorists and bicyclists.
