Oak Cliff director to premiere new film at SXSW

Nate Rubin stars in "Wuss".

Clay Liford, the Dallas-based filmmaker with a studio in Oak Cliff, is known for his short “My Mom Smokes Weed” and the 2010 feature film “Earthling”, which screened at SXSW in 2010. Checkout our Q&A with him from last year.

The guy is prolific. His latest feature, “Wuss”, is premiering at SXSW next month.

The movie, which is about a high school teacher whose students bully him, was produced by three of the Texas Theatre guys — Barak Epstein, Adam Donaghey and Eric Steele — as well as Dallas businessman Bala Shagrithaya.

The movie was filmed entirely in the Dallas area, including South Garland High School.
