Wet Oak Cliff: Trial date for election contest suit

Oak Cliff will remain wet.  The state judge hearing the challenge to the wet/dry election has set September 12 as the date for the trial to begin.  The case has been boiled down to whether the city of Dallas properly verified and counted the signatures on the petition that forced the election.  The judge had earlier ruled that she did not have the authority to temporarily halt the issuance of permits while the lawsuit was pending.
