A few things are happening in Oak Cliff on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17.

Lockhart Smokehouse will offer a special, smoked corned beef. We’ve never tried smoked corned beef. In fact, it’s possible we’ve never tried corned beef. But if Lockhart is making it, chances are, it’s good. And the bar will serve green beer.

Decanter is coordinating with the Irish American Society of Dallas for a party with free Irish-themed food, drink specials and giveaways. Bring donations of new or gently used children’s toys and clothes for the Shriners.

David Lindley and Jim Suhler perform at the Kessler Theater. Lindley is a multi-instrumentalist who for many years was a featured accompanist to Jackson Browne. From the Kessler’s website: “The David Lindley electro-acoustic performance effortlessly combines American folk, blues, and bluegrass traditions with elements from African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy, and Turkish musical sources.” Tickets are $18.

And the Texas Theater is showing a couple of mysteries. Cold Winter was a favorite at SXSW last year. It shows at 8 p.m. And it’s followed by the Hitchcock neighbor flick, “Rear Window”, at 10:15 p.m. Tickets are $8.
