Mountain View College basketball team wins national tournament

We’re amid the rapture of March Madness this week, and over at Mountain View College, there’s already a championship to celebrate.

The Oak Cliff college’s team won the 2011 NJCAA Division III Men’s Basketball championship in New York this month.

Marcus Price, a 19-year-old freshman, scored 18 points in the final game and was the tournament MVP. The trip to New York was Price’s first on an airplane.

A congratulatory pep rally for the team is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 in the gym at Mountain View.
