The Texas Theatre will show the Rangers vs. Red Sox game at 3 p.m. Hot dogs, beer, baseball nerds. Yes.
The Texas also has “I Saw the Devil”, old-school cartoons at 2 p.m. Saturday and the next installment of “Dallas” Sunday.
The Kessler has Del Castillo Friday, Papa Grows Funk Saturday and a “Grease” sing-along with the The Women’s Chorus of Dallas Sunday.
Wigwam is opening a pop-up shop inside Oil & Cotton for one month only. The grand opening party is from 6-10 p.m. Friday, April 1. Wigwam is a retail shop from a group of creative Oak Cliff women, including stylist Malina Pearson and Shannon Driscoll of Oil & Cotton. They had pop-up shops during the two Oak Cliff Better Block projects. Expect vintage stuff, crafty curiosities and super coolness.
The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League hosts a neighborhood symposium from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Speakers include representatives from the city, local arts organizations and community activist organizations. Topics include graffiti, animal control, researching the history of your home, organizing a neighborhood, achieving nonprofit tax status as well as information on our parks, community gardening, the better block initiative and local arts programs. A group of cyclists is raising money to fight multiple sclerosis by riding 153 miles in the MS 150 April 30-May 1. They have two fundraisers Sunday. First is “Bike Bingo” from noon-2 p.m. It’s basically a family friendly scavenger hunt, starting at Eno’s. The minimum suggested donation is $10 per rider. Then from 4-8 p.m. is “Pints to Pedal”.
